Saturday, June 19, 2010 19:55 - On Saturday 6/19/10 at 19:55hrs stations 11 & 13 were dispatched to Interstate 495NB in the area of Holly Oak Road for an MVC involving a motorcycle. Also dispatched to this incident were DSP, DSP Trooper 4, and NCC Medic 4. Chief 13-8 and Ambulance B-13 arrived first to find the operator of the motorcycle thrown from the bike into the rear window of the SUV and trapped. In addition to the entrapment, the motorcycle was on fire and the driver of the SUV was injured. Crews from Engine 11-5 and Rescue 13 performed the extrication and extinguished the fire. The motorcycle operator was transported to the trauma center via trooper 4. The driver of the SUV was transported to the trauma center via Ambulance A-11. While fire police were directing traffic at the motorcycle accident, fire police 11-9C reported a brush fire in the median of Interstate-495 above Edgemoor Road. Engine 11-3 made the response and extinguished the fire. While 11-3 was on scene the brush, 11-5 cleared the accident and made the response to a medical assist on Governor Printz Blvd. All units were back in quarters around 2100hrs.
