My Fellow Firefighters:
Albert Thompson was my cousin and we spent many a good time down at the shore and running through the back alleys of the neighborhood. His Mom was my great aunt Anna. When we were kids we hung out at Uncle Mark's shop almost directly across from your station.
I remember his 16th birthday party and how we chased him all over the place.
I carried a Brandywine Hundred patch sewed inside my turnout gear. I started this when Al was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Upon retirement, after 29+years service, I removed the patch and it now hangs beside an Omaha patch between my two helmets. One Firefighter, red leather, and my Haz-Mat Rescue 1 black Captain's helmet.
We were very close and I miss him.
Respectfully,
John Thorogood
PS Stay safe guys

Was a member from 86-92. Newt was my chief. Riding the back step was fun except in the winter. I see my buddy Fino is still chief. Rip my friend Doc.

Memories from when we were smoke eaters, State Fire School, riding the back of the engines, rolling hose in freezing temps, etc. Great to see Donnie and others at Thanksgiving. Great web page.
